Howard Hyping DARK TOWER!

It seems Ron Howard and Imagine Entertainment has wanted to keep their production of “The Dark Tower” in the news over the holidays.  As online sources and newspapers are awash with casting rumors, highlighting a supposed battle between Viggo Mortensen and Javier Bardem being for the lead role.  Reports suggest the suits want Bardem and Howard wants Mortensen.  Or vice versa.

Ho hum … call us when there’s real news.

Here’s the trailer for the TNT sci-fi series “Falling Skies” created by Robert Rodat (Saving Private Ryan, The Patriot) and produced by Steven Spielberg.  Doesn’t look like the most original series in world.  Lots of “V”, War of the Worlds and Independence Day in there.  But still looks like quite a bit of fun.

But our opinions aren’t that important.  What do you think?  Is this the type of series you want to see?  Does this trailer get you get you psyched for the series?  Share your thoughts in the comments section.

The ghost stories of M.R. James are something of a Christmas Tradition in the UK.  And this year is no exception with BBC 2 airing a brand new adaptation of arguably his best known ghost story “Oh, Whistle and I’ll Come to You, My Lad” staring John Hurt (above).

But we thought the readers of Ghost Radio might like to view several earlier adaptations of the story.  First up Robert Powell giving an effective staged reading of an edited version of the original text:

And after the jump we have Jonathan Miller’s 1968 adaptation for the series “Omnibus”.
