Ghosts

This last week was a busy one at the blog.  Full of fun, cool, and informative stories.  We’ll take you through that excitement one more time.

It began with a report on some bouncy critters, a hairy critter, and some awards for creating critters.

We then moved onto Italian sorcerers, Japanese robots, an Australian actor and three nightmares on Elm Street.

Then it was onto rocks on the moon, a rockin’ creature, a Night tease, and a special year.

Then we were offered treats from a festival, rings at an amusement park, wonder at the movies, and freebies from the BBC.

From there we heard sound in a library, silence in space, laughter in Germany, the sound of thunder from Australia, and the pop of fireworks.

We saw the rise of new technology, the return of strange visitors, an award winner trying horror,  an actor going to the fringe,  a cat comes back,  and snow falls under red skies.

A somewhat slow week at GR.  But here’s a quick overview:

We looked at all the uses of sci-fi gadget, another sci-fi gadget that’s becoming a reality,  and a famous actor who’s known for playing a character fond of sci-fi gadgets.

We examined some water on a distant moon, saw a famous mystery solved by a space vehicle which cannot reach even a local moon,  and a movie with box office headed to the moon.

We heard of a star-filled movie headed for blu-ray, a star-shaped UFO over Brazil, and a no-stars movie review.

Rumors, Reboots and Reputations: This Week at GHOST RADIO!

Copy of ghosts

Another thrill-packed week of news at the GHOST RADIO blog.

We considered dinosaurs that still walk the earth, UFOs that fly in formations, and monsters that might just be logs.

We saw an animal cloned, a TV show reborn and another exhibited.

There was that creature not cute enough for Disney, some creatures who need a Doctor (or maybe not), and something that made Joss Whedon say “NO!”

And, finally, a call to the talented,  a questionable haircut, and some mooning.

Not bad for a lazy week in June.

Triangular UFO Over Oregon

From the UFO Examiner:

A Oregon witness watched an unusual orb in the sky as it changed colors in a pulsing manner, and then observed a triangle-shaped UFO emerge from inside of it, according to testimony from the Mutual UFO Network (MUFON) witness database.

The May 29 event occured near an airport, and the witness wants to point out that the shape and behavior of both objects is out of the ordinary. The triangle UFO had three amber-colored lights at each of its points. White lights seem to be the norm for this type of craft, but we have seen the amber lights reported in other cases.

The triangle craft eventually moved away at a high rate of speed, and the pulsing orb either moved away, or shrunk in size – the witness is not sure – as it just seemed to get smaller and smaller with each pulse of light.

UFOs Turn Out to be “Sky Lanterns”

From the Norwich Evening News site:

The truth behind a collection of mysterious flying objects over Norwich has been revealed.

Yesterday the Evening News reported how engineer David Self, 56, spotted 11 bright orange globes flying over his home in Thorpe Marriot on Saturday night, and was appealing for an explanation.

Similar sights were witnessed in the area by readers including Jono Read, who on Sunday night was travelling towards Holt from the University of East Anglia after going to a Maximo Park gig, and Chris Nairne-Clark, who saw large orange globes over Wensum Park at about 10.30pm on Monday night.

But a number of readers have revealed that instead of visitors from out of space, the globes were actually flying lanterns let off from Wensum Valley Golf Club.

Tom Harwood said the lanterns on Saturday night were to celebrate the wedding of Robert and Becky Palmer.

He said: “The lanterns were lit and released during the evening reception. They were orange in colour and I can understand why there appearance caused uncertainty. They drifted from the golf club towards the end of Thorpe Marriott, towards Felthorpe.

“I hope this answers Mr Self’s curiosity.”

Reader Aaron Field added: “I have also seen these before and looked into it myself. It turns out they are merely miniature hot air balloons commercially available to celebrate New Year and birthdays and more commonly known as sky lanterns. Those I have watched recently take a similar time to disappear out of sight, and would easily be misconceived as UFOs.

“Sorry to disappoint, but still interesting all the same.”
