Video: NBC Announces New Fall Season, “Heroes” Axed

Posted in Sci-Fi, Fantasy and Horror, Television, Video with tags , , , , , , on May 17, 2010 by ghostradioworld

Yup,  “Heroes” is gone.  But NBC has a few shows lined up for fall which might strike your fancy.

First up a new superhero show to appease bereaved “Heroes” devotees called “The Cape.”

Then there’s “The Event” a conspiracy thriller. We know you love conspiracies.  And this one looks like a combination of “24” and “Lost”!  Getting excited yet? We are.

Finally, there’s the new spy thriller from J.J. Abrams called “Undercovers”.  J.J. and spies?  How can you not be excited about that?

Sure, all these shows might suck.  But, you gotta admit, it looks like last place NBC is swinging for the fences with this line up.  And we’ll be tuning in hoping for doubles, triples, and maybe even a home run.  And with these three batters we see NBC as having a real chance to score.

And now that we’ve tortured that sports metaphor to within an inch of  its life, watch the trailers below:

Video: BOGGY CREEK Remake Trailer!

Posted in Cryptozoology, Movies, Sci-Fi, Fantasy and Horror, Video with tags , , on March 21, 2010 by ghostradioworld

Here’s the first trailer for the remake/re-imagining of the classic schlock movie The Legend of Boggy Creek.  This version eschews the documentary style of the original to tell a dramatic story of an encounter with the “Fouke Monster”.

And if you’ve never heard of the original, it’s quite a thing to behold:  A  faux documentary examining encounters with bigfoot-like creature  in Fouke, Arkansas.  And it’s one of those movies which owed a lot of its success to some compelling trailers and television spots, like this one:

Sure, that may look silly and hokey today.  But back in the seventies, if you were of a certain age, this was must see stuff.  And it’s ability to snag a G rating meant even the little kiddies got into this low budget shocker.  And, trust us, nightmares followed.

Obviously, the new ones are slicker.  But those original ads are much scarier.

Some people were starting to believe that Alan Wake might become this century’s Duke Nukem Forever, as news of the potential release of this game kept failing to materialize.  But the wait is over.  This psychological horror game will hit store shelves in the U.S. on May 18, 2010 and in Europe on May 21, 2010.

Not sure what we’re talking about?  Check out these trailers:
