Toyfair 2012: Hasbro’s New Marvel Movie Toys!

With big Marvel movies hitting the multiplexes this summer, Hasbro is jumping on the bandwagon, releasing new lines of Spiderman (above)  and Avengers (below) toys.

The Spiderman figures will be hitting store shelves on May 28th.  The range with include 3.75″, 2″ and a special 13″ figure.  The Avengers figures will appearing sooner, staring on March first.  All the figures in this line will be 3.75″ will offer movie versions of Captain American, Iron Man, Thor, the Hulk, Hawkeye and others.  The line will also feature a nifty 3′ version of the S.H.E.I.L.D. Helicarrier.  Who doesn’t want that?

We’re not 100% on board with this one.  UFO videos are usually this short because if they were longer their explanation would be revealed.  But we love the videographer’s reaction which sounds very genuine.  For these moments, at least, he didn’t know what he was filming.

DC Reboot One-liners and Preview Art!

DC is beating the drum for their massive relaunch/reboot in September.  First, they released a bunch of preview art.  Then they sent out 52 “one-liners”.   Each coming from one of the new issues.  And each, supposedly, relating to the over-arcing themes of the reboot.

Is the NYC Skyline the New Stonehenge?

Is there something strange about the alignment of the skyscrapers in Manhattan?  Something similar to the astrophysical alignment of Europe’s stone circles, like Stonehenge?  Well, many have noticed this.  Chief among them the astrophysicist Neil deGrasse Tyson.   He even coined the term “Manhattanhenge” to explain this similarity.

Robot Film Festival!

Robot film festival.  Has there ever been a more exciting combination of words?  Well, if you agree, and you’re going to be in the New York City area on July 16-17, you should rush to the Three Legged Dog theatre in lower Manhattan and enjoy the fun!
