Trailers From Hell is quite simply one of the best movie sites on the Internet.  Their remit is simple:  Post trailers.  Have cool film people (e.g. Joe Dante, Rick Baker, Edgar Wright, Guillermo del Toro, Larry Cohen, Roger Corman, and many, many more) comment on those trailers.  Lather.  Rinse.  Repeat.

But for many of us TFH fans that simply wasn’t enough. And the dudes at TFH must have sensed this.  Because they have now launched a blog.  They’re calling it:  FROM HELL IT CAME!  Here’s their rational for its creation:

… our endemic TFH commentaries are necessarily limited to the lengths of the individual trailers, and sometimes there’s more to be said. Moreover, there are lots of things on our minds that don’t lend themselves specifically to trailer commentaries, many of which have been recorded long before they actually appear on our site.  So we thought we might give this a shot and see how it goes.

Count us in!  And if you wanna join in on the fun all you have to do is click here.

New burst of trailer goodness for Attack the Block.  This film directed by comedian Joe Cornish, about an alien invasion of UK council estate, was all the buzz at South by Southwest.  An audience and critical favorite.  And I think this trailer gives you a good idea why!

Alternate icon Beck wrote all songs of the fiction band “Sex Bob-Omb!” in the film Scott Pilgrim vs. the World.  He reportedly wrote the songs rapidly to keep the lo-fi vibe of the characters in the film.  Well, he wrote more songs than were used in the film.  Now you can listen to them here.

We hate the word “awesome”.  Deep, vicious, hair-pulling hate.  Yet we went through five different thesauruses (theasuari?) searching for a better word to describe this trailer, and we couldn’t find one.

So watch this trailer it’s … (this is very hard for us) … awesome!

Before Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz, Simon Pegg and Edgar Wright created a little sitcom called “Spaced”.  If you love their movies, you gotta watch “Spaced”.  One of the favorite scenes from this series is this famous “gun fight”:

Love it, right?  So did recent  a “flash mob” which recreated it in Trafalgar Square.  Check it out:

SHAUN OF THE DEAD to Become a TV Series?

Posted in Movies, Sci-Fi, Fantasy and Horror, Television with tags , , , , on March 4, 2010 by ghostradioworld

Sounds like a dumb idea?  Well, according to the Guardian this is exactly what might happen thanks to a media deal between Working Title and Universal:

One of the aims [of this deal] is to make TV adaptations of Working Title’s library of more than 90 theatrical releases, which includes the Bridget Jones movies, Billy Elliot and Nanny McPhee, along with Four Weddings and a Funeral, Notting Hill and Shaun of the Dead.

We don’t really care if a lot of these projects make it to the small screen.  But we hope that they leave Shaun alone.
