GHOST Looking to Scare Up a Tune in the West End!

Yup, it’s true the supernatural weepy classic from the nineties Ghost is being turned into a West End musical.  Or “lavish West End musical” as the cynical wags might put it.  Frankly all we can picture is the cast singing “Unchained Melody” for two hours.  But that’s probably why we’re writing blogs, and they’re writing musicals.

The show will begin a seven week tryout in Manchester starting in March 2011.  If that proves successful, it’s West End here they come.

Bruce Joel Rubin, the author of the original screenplay, will be handling the book.  And Dave Stewart (of the Eurthymics, insert “Sweet Dreams” joke here) and Glen Ballard will be providing the tunes.

Finally, here’s the “Unchained Melody” scene.  We knew you’d just search this out on YouTube after reading this piece.  So we thought we’d save you the trouble.
