Director Ti West (The House of the Devil) has once again teamed with Glass Eye Pix and Dark Sky Films for a new horror film entitled The Innkeepers.  Above are the first two stills from the film.  They picture the film’s stars Sara Paxton and Pat Healy.

The film tells the story of two clerks (Paxton and Healy) left in a hotel noted for paranormal activity on the night before its final day in business.

The project doesn’t, as yet, have a release date.  Nor is there any information regarding the scope of its release.  Will it be a wide theatrical release?  Or a small one with near day and date DVD/Blu-Ray releases, like The House of the Devil.  But, either way,  it certainly sounds like a good follow-up to that project.    And we really look forward to it!

Syfy Announces “Randall and Hopkirk (Deceased)” Remake!

Syfy has announced that they’re moving forward with a remake of sixties British cult television show “Randall and Hopkirk (Deceased)”.  It will be produced by Josh Brycel (“Scrubs”) and Jonathan Fener (“American Dad”).

Syfy’s executive vice president of original programming Mark Stern had this to say about the remake:

Josh and Jonathan have found a great way to update the buddy-cop formula with a supernatural twist … We look forward to working with them … to bring new life to this British classic.

The original series involves a private eye who’s partner dies, but returns to help him as a ghost.  There were 26 episodes filmed, and they ran between 1966-7.  It aired in syndication in the U.S., under the title “My Partner the Ghost”.    A remake of the series aired on BBC1 in 2000.   It was generally panned by major critics and fans of the original.
