Stan Lee Tweets His Captain America Cameo!

Stan Lee was on the set of Captain American: First Avenger yesterday and shared the experience with his fans via a series of tweets.  He started by sharing this bit of news:

Marvel Studios has upgraded my cameo for the Captain America movie! They’ve given me one more word of dialogue than originally planned!

Underlined the point:

As you know, I never ever brag, but it’s obvious they must have felt a star such as I deserves a bigger role.

Then told us what this would mean:

Of course, that extra word of dialogue means I have to re-study my role. I’ve only a few hours before my eagerly anticipated performance

Then he informed us when the great event would come:

Harken ye, my warriors! The moment hath come. The director calls. All eyes my way do turn as upon the set doth fall an expectant hush.

Then wrapped the whole thing up:

Rejoice, my brave Brigadiers! Thy beloved Generalissimo hath returned from his hazardous Captain America cameo, victorious and unscathed!

Isn’t it embarrassing that an eighty-eight year-old man is better at using Twitter than everyone in Silicon Valley combined?  That was meant as a rhetorical question.  But if you have anything to say about this, share your thoughts in the comments section!

Stan Lee Releases New Tome!

This week Stan Lee released a new book Stan Lee’s How to Draw Comics.  A callback to the classic volume How to Draw Comics the Marvel Way (published in 1984 ), this books takes readers through the basics of drawing for comic books with the trademark humor and asides that have made Lee famous.  All this makes it a solid and  entertaining introduction to the subject.

“Stan’s Back!” – Odd Ad Campaign has Web Confused

The cryptic statement above has been used in print and web advertisement.  The signature styled “Stan’s” is clearly that of comic creator (cum legend) Stan Lee.  But back where?  Doing what?

Bleeding Cool’s Rich Johnson thinks Boom Studios might be behind this due to similar campaigns they’ve run in the past.  But we’re not sure.  The only “back” that seems worth advertising would be a return to a gig writing at Marvel.  But no one knows for sure right now.  Only time will tell.  Or as Stan might put it … ’nuff said.

Stan Lee Gets Cameo in THOR Movie!

Stan Lee landed cameo in the new Thor motion picture.  And here are his tweets on the subject:

Hey, I got an email from the multu-talented director of Thor, Kenneth Branagh. Not enough space left to tell what he said– stay tuned–

Kenneth Branagh (of course I call him “Ken!”) said my cameo’s set for the upcoming Thor movie. –To him, it’s a cameo, to me– it’s a ROLE!

I went easy on Ken Branagh when we discussed my role in Thor. Told him I wouldn’t insist on my name above the title, I think he was grateful

Yeah, I mentioned Ken Banagh a few times, but I warned you I was a name driopper. Seriously tho’, with him directing, Thor’s a sure winner

Of course, my previous tweet revealed the extent of my innate modesty. I really wanted to add “With me doing a cameo, Thor’s a sure winner”
