Tarantino’s Next Film: DJANGO UNCHAINED!

Posted in Movies, Television with tags , , , , , , , , on May 2, 2011 by ghostradioworld

In 1966, a Italian western was released directed by Sergio Corbucci and starring Franco Nero.  It was called Django.  Noted for its unique main character and ultra-violence the film immediately became a sensation.  Although the film only inspired one official sequel, it had at least 31 unofficial sequels.  Some suggest the number exceeds 100.  The name also inspired the “Jango Fett” character in the Star Wars saga.  In 2007, cult Japanese director Takashi Miike joined the group with Sukiyaki Western Django.    And now Tarantino wants in.  It’s been reported that he’s just handed in a script to the Weinstein Company entitled Django Unchained.

Little is known about this project other the fact that QT wants to get started as quickly as possible.  It’s not even clear what connection it has to the original films.  But the Django concept is the perfect inspiration for QT to roll out another one of his exploitation inspired slabs of cinema goodness.  This time Western style.

Don’t get it?

After the jump we offer a bunch of trailers from various Django movies to help you understand  …

Tarantino Announces KILL BILL Threequel!

Posted in Movies with tags , , , , , , on October 4, 2009 by ghostradioworld

This is the age of the pointless sequel.  Even Quentin Tarantino realizes it.  As evidenced by his announcement at the Morelia International Film Festival of a third installment in the Kill Bill series.

According to QT this installment will take place ten years after the end of the Vol. 2.  But the people excited about this (are there any?) have a while to wait.  As QT plans to make another film before he launches the threequel.

In the same interview QT also spoke of the possibility of either a sequel or prequel to Inglourious Basterds.

inglourious basterds

This trailer plays up the film’s comic elements.  But we think people going into this film expecting a rip-roaring comedy are going to be hugely disappointed.

But people expecting another slice of deep dish Tarantino will come away full and satisfied!

Despite it’s poor box office performance, Quentin Tarantino and Robert Rodriguez’ homage to Seventies exploitation films Grindhouse has legions of fans.  Count us among them.  But outside of purchasing an expensive Japanese Boxset, which is now out of print, one could not experience the theatrical cut of this movie at home.

Well, fans may have reason to rejoice, according to Blu-Ray.com:

An early announcement to retailers indicates that Genius Products and The Weinstein Company are set to release Robert Rodriguez and Quentin Tarantino’s ‘Grindhouse’ on Blu-ray on August 11. No edition details are available, other than this would be a two-disc set, but it may well be the theatrical Grindhouse double feature.

However, since no details have been released on this set yet, we have to keep this in the rumor category.  But we think its only a matter of weeks before you’ll be able to enjoy all the original, theatrical Grindhousey goodness at home.  Until that time, enjoy the trailer that opened the theatrical cut:

We just can’t get enough of that trailer.  And we may not have to.  To understand what we’re talking about click here.

UPDATE:  Well, it took a while.  But it’s finally coming!  It’s been more than year since we posted this article.  But a Blu-Ray of the theatrical version of Grindhouse will be hitting stores on October 5, 2010.  Amazon already has it available for pre-order, click here!
