All of Rick Baker’s Oscar Wins and Losses!

Posted in Movies, Sci-Fi, Fantasy and Horror with tags , , , , , , , on February 28, 2011 by ghostradioworld

It warmed the cockles of our heart to see Rick Baker take home his seventh Oscar.   It’s not that he needs any more recognition.  But we’re a bunch of Starlog/Fangoria kids who’ve been following Baker’s career for decades.  And we feel invested.  We also wanted to share a few factoids.

This is Baker’s seventh win.  What are the six other films he won Oscars for?

How the Grinch Stole Christmas (2001), Men in Black (1998), The Nutty Professor (1997),  Ed Wood (1995), Harry and the Hendersons (1988), and An American Werewolf in London (1982).

Yup, Harry and the Hendersons is an Oscar wining film.

He lost five times.  Those films were:

Norbit (2008); Life (2000); Mighty Joe Young (1999); Coming to America (1989);  and Greystoke: The Legend of Tarzan, Lord of the Apes (1984).

And here’s a few films that he worked on that received no Oscar attention and probably should have:

King Kong (1976), Gorillas in the Mist (1988) , and Planet of the Apes (2001).

UFO and Black Helicopters Caught on Tape

Posted in UFOs, Video with tags , , , , , , on December 13, 2008 by ghostradioworld

This is a combination of two videos originally posted in July.  These videos contain explicit language.

The original poster says of the first half of the video featuring the UFO:

The original footage. Jan, 2006. A couple of friends and I filmed this as we were driving in Bloomington Indiana. Initially, we thought it was a helicopter because we saw one flying just ahead of us, but then we lost sight of it. Then all of a sudden we notice 3 huge lights coming down from the sky, one was bigger than the rest of them. As we drove closer and finally pulled over, they stopped moving and sat motionless in the sky. If these were helicopters, you would hear them and see them swaying as they attempted to hover. These had no sound and literally followed us from Bloomington In, to Indianapolis In, and then all the way back to Bloomington. Something flew beneath the main target that we were filming and as it gets close, the main target, which was about 2-3 times the size of the other aircraft lifts itself higher and moves laterally over the other object. I claim no absolutes on this video, but, I do know that this is NOT typical aerial maneuvering. I grew up next to the airport in my hometown and my father used to design for the military.

And he says this of the second half of the video featuring the black helicopters:

After I filmed the Anomalous objects that I caught on tape which is posted in my video log as UFO’S??? Bloomington, Indiana. This is what happened all day the next day and for a good stretch of time afterwards. This is a small sample of the government response to what I filmed. The story gets longer and deeper, however, this is an adequate example that whatever I filmed was not taken lightly by the military.

If you notice in the first clip when they come over the trees, I actually yell up to them, and one of them turns their spotlight off right afterwards.

These guys were not joking around, and I have tons more footage where this came from. It takes roughly $10,000-15,000 dollars an hour to run one of these helicopters. These guys were all over me at the expense of you…the taxpayers.
