Photo: A Second Ghost Photo From Tantallon Castle

Last week the paranormal community was all abuzz when a compelling ghost photo taken at Tantallon Castle was published in the Sun.  We covered that story here.

Well, yesterday another Tantallon Castle ghost photo emerged.

Details on this photo from Yahoo News:

The second photo was taken by Grace Lamb, from Edinburgh, at the same location 32 years ago. It shows her late husband Hugh and two children Paul and Kelly – and behind them, what looks like a female figure staring out of an opening above the window in the original ghost photo.

As before, Mrs Lamb does not recall seeing the face when she pressed the camera button. The figure was only noticed when the photograph was developed and has been a topic of heated debate by the family ever since.

The family sent the photo to Prof Wiseman after seeing news coverage of the original Tantallon “ghost”.

Although not as compelling as the first photo, this photo nonetheless increases interest in this site and the original photo.  And we bet people who’ve visited this site in the last thirty years will be scouring their holiday snaps in the months ahead.

Photo: UFO Snapped Near UK Cathedral!

Nice shot.  Here are the details from the Ely Standard:

A WOMAN in Ely has taken phone footage of what she believes is a flying saucer hovering over Ely Cathedral.

The woman, who was walking her dog on Tuesday evening, sent us this footage last night and we immediately put it up on our website this morning (April 1).

A dog walker told us she was with her pet Labrador Massie down near to riverside when she looked up and saw an oval mass hovering over the cathedral.

“Maisie started quivering,” the woman in her fifties told the Ely Standard, “and that’s when I knew something was wrong.”

The resident took out her camera phone to capture this e once-in-a lifetime event and sent the result to the Ely Standard. “The result was a bit blurry,” she said, “because by that time I was almost as nervous as Maisie. You certainly don’t prepare yourself for that sort of thing – I’m a natural sceptic about the existence of extra-terrestrial life and had always poured scorn on the conspiracy theorists who thought we would all be beamed up into spaceships by 2010. However, it was soon clear that whatever the object was, it was not hostile, and it had obviously homed in on the cathedral as a major landmark for the area and I think that’s rather nice. I go to evensong at the cathedral fairly regularly and am unsure about what the Church of England’s view on alien life forms is, but the fact that they didn’t do me, Maisie or that spectacular building any harm – so as far as I’m concerned – if they are aliens, they are welcome on my planet.”

The Ely Standard managed to track down another passer-by who was locking up his shop when he heard a noise.

“I was locking up when I noticed it,” he told us. “To be honest, I thought it was another one of those American spy planes off the telly, but once I went down the pub and spoke to a few of the lads – they all saw this bright light reflecting off it and we can’t all be off our trolleys.

Paramount Fast Tracks Horror Comic Book Project!

According to Shock Till You Drop,  Paramount has put the pedal to the metal on their adaptation of Dark Horse Comics’ graphic novel Damn Nation.

From the description on Amazon this looks to be a combination of I Am Legend and Escape From New York:

Fossil Sea Monster Found: Makes T-Rex Look Like a Sea Monkey!

OSLO (Reuters) – A giant fossil sea monster found in the Arctic and known as “Predator X” had a bite that would make T-Rex look feeble, scientists said on Monday.

The 50 ft (15 meter) long Jurassic era marine reptile had a crushing 33,000 lbs (15 metric tons) per square inch bite force, the Natural History Museum of Oslo University said of the new find on the Norwegian Arctic archipelago of Svalbard.

“With a skull that’s more than 10 feet long you’d expect the bite to be powerful but this is off the scale,” said Joern Hurum, an associate professor of vertebrate paleontology at the museum who led the international excavation in 2008.

“It’s much more powerful than T-Rex,” he said of the pliosaur reptile that would have been a top marine predator. Tyrannosaurus Rex was a top land carnivore among dinosaurs.

The scientists reconstructed the predator’s head and estimated the force by comparing it with the similarly-shaped jaws of alligators in a park in Florida.

“The calculation is one of the largest bite forces ever calculated for any creature,” the Museum said of the bite, estimated with the help of evolutionary biologist Greg Erickson from Florida State University.

Predator X’s bite was more than 10 times more powerful than any modern animal and four times the bite of a T-Rex, it said of the fossil, reckoned at 147 million years old. Alligators, crocodiles and sharks all now have fearsome bites.

The teeth of the pliosaur, belonging to a new species, were a foot (30 cms) long. The scientists reconstructed the reptile from a partial skull and 20,000 fragments of skeleton.

The pliosaur, estimated to have weighed 45 metric tons, was similar to but had more massive bones than another fossil sea monster found on Svalbard in 2007, also estimated at 50 feet long and the largest pliosaur to date.

“It’s not complete enough to say it’s really bigger than 15 meters,” Hurum said of the new fossil.

Hurum had said of the first fossil pliosaur that it was big enough to chomp on a small car. He said the bite estimates for the latest fossil forced a rethink.

“This one is more like it could crush a Hummer,” he said. referring to General Motors’ large sport utility vehicle.

Among other findings were that the pliosaur had a small thin brain shaped like that of a great white shark, according to scans by Patrick Druckenmiller of the University of Alaska.

Pliosaurs preyed upon squid-like animals, fish, and other marine reptiles. Predator X had four huge flippers to propel itself along, perhaps using just two at cruising speeds and the others for a burst of speed.

Video: Stick Figure Alien!

This odd footage appears to show a very thin figure walking across a backyard.  Since this is a video of a low-grade video, it’s hard to assess the image.  But it is quite intriguing nonetheless.

And here’s another video of a similar alien shot in Peru.

Some have suggested this a snake or a tree branch.  But the suggestion of “walking” is hard dismiss.

However, as with the first video, the quality of the youtube source makes it difficult to make any concrete analysis.

Trailers for New J-Horror Franchise!

Horror fans may all be sick of J-Horror after being inundated by countless of these films in recent years.  But these two new films could reignite interest.

Called Teke-Teke and Teke-Teke 2, the films focus on the story of the ghost of a young woman cut in half by a train, prowling earth in search of her legs.  Anyone who sees her will be dead in three days.

Ghost Photographed on Yorkshire Moors!

THIS ghostly figure was snapped by a holidaymaker on the moors of North Yorkshire — and experts reckon the eerie photo is GENUINE.

Unsuspecting Colin Foster, 34, aimed his new digital camera at the winter scenery during a trip earlier this year.

He didn’t spot anything unusual until he returned home from his backpacking tour and began checking the photos he had taken.

Colin said: “My girlfriend and I were looking through them when she grabbed my hand and said, ‘Stop’.

“She insisted I zoom in on one particular picture. At first I didn’t see it — but, as we zoomed in, we just turned to each other with our mouths agape.”

Colin, of Wordsley, West Mids, added: “At the time I took the photo I did feel like I was being watched, but I just put that down to how remote and lonely the place was.

“All my friends and family are scratching their heads in awe.”

Last night experts were also astonished by the photo — one of hundreds taken by jobless Colin during his tour of northern England.

TV medium Craig Hamilton-Parker said: “I have checked it over for cheating, but it has none of the tell-tale signs of photo manipulating.

“The exact human shape leads me to say, ‘Yes, this is a real supernatural snap’. The Yorkshire Moors are renowned for their ghosts.”

Nick Thurston, of the UK British Paranormal Association, said: “This image is extremely clear and is certainly that of a spirit manifestation of a full human figure.”

UKBPA vice chairman Clint Symonds said: “This is one of those pictures that makes you sit up and say wow. But obviously it is also a picture that needs deep examination.

“It is so easy these days to fool the public with paranormal phenomena due to modern software.”
