Video: Best Moment on “Doctor Who” This Year!

We’ve been a bit underwhelmed by series six of “Doctor Who”.  But the moment below is one of favorites in this or any other year.  It even inspired us to do the photoshoppery above inspired by this poster.   But none of this will make sense to you until you watch the following:

No Full Season of DOCTOR WHO in 2012!

Posted in Sci-Fi, Fantasy and Horror, Television with tags , , , , , , , on June 14, 2011 by ghostradioworld

From UK television journalist Lizo Mzimba via Twitter:

to summarise: no FULL 13 episode series of Dr Who in 2012. So some episodes will still go out in 2012. Remainder in 2013.

And then he added:

Don’t know how many 2012 eps or what time of year they’ll be broadcast. Just what Danny Cohen said earlier which was no FULL series in 2012.

We’re aren’t happy about this.  Not happy at all.

We’re so excited about this!  It really isn’t spring till the Doctor makes his visit.  And this season (or “series” as the Brits say) looks especially exciting:  Clowns, cowboy hats and ventriloquist dummies … yee-haw! looks like quite a ride.

DOCTOR WHO is Coming to America!

Posted in Sci-Fi, Fantasy and Horror, Television with tags , , , , , , , , , , on October 10, 2010 by ghostradioworld

The BBC announced today that the season six two-part opener will be set and partly filmed in the United States.  As for the story.  This is what the Beeb had to offer:

[It's] set in the late ’60s in which the Doctor, Amy and Rory find themselves on a secret summons that takes them on an adventure from the desert in Utah – right to the Oval Office itself.

Hmmm … oval office, late sixties.  Is the Doctor gonna meet LBJ?  Or if it’s ’69 he could meet Nixon.  The Doctor meeting Nixon.  There’s a clash we’d love to see!

By why all this hullabaloo about a DW story set in America?  What’s so special about that?  We’ve seen those before.  Haven’t we?  Series show runner Steven Moffat jumps in on that score:

… of course every Doctor Who fan will be jumping up and down and saying he’s been in America before.  But not for real, not on location – and not with a story like this one!  Oh, you wait!

We will wait.  Even if we don’t wanna.

Lost Dalek Seeking Owner!

Posted in Movies, Sci-Fi, Fantasy and Horror, Television with tags , , , , , , , , , , , on September 24, 2010 by ghostradioworld

A Dalek has been discovered in the West Exe Learning Centre in Exeter, England.   The Dalek is a full sized replica, standing about 5′ tall.  Like the actual props, an individual can side inside this replica and control it.

The officials at the school have no idea where the dalek came from, and are seeking its owners:

Anyone who can help police with their inquiries is asked to contact Det Con Prince at Exeter burglary team on 08452 777444.

Wonder how many false claims of ownership they will receive?

We bet many fans wish Steven  Moffat would collect this one to replace the widely panned “new daleks“.
