Wonder Woman Not Picked Up For Series!

TV by the Numbers is reporting:

Wonder Woman has been picked up to series by NBC, but no information yet on its scheduling.

Although this news isn’t official, TBN trusts their source.  And our sources are confirming this.  So we feel pretty confident in reporting this.  We do, however, hear rumors that some re-shoots are planned to “adjust the tone” of the pilot.  Hmmm … more on that later.

Update:  The rumor mill is still going crazy over this story.  Some still insisting the series is a go.  Other say no.  But most say no real answer till the 16th.  

Update II:  It seems that TV By the Numbers is changing their tune.  Now they’re reporting:

Apparently, NBC has now passed on Wonder Woman, which our previously reliable source had told us would be picked up.

So much for new superhero series this fall.  We’ll have to settle for … um … “Charlies Angels”?

Some have postulated that this is her “Princess” costume.  Maybe.  But it could also just be some fancy civvies.  Regardless, Andrianne Palicki looks great.  And certainly fills the costume and role … physically at least.

Directly from EW, here’s the first still of Adrianne Palicki in costume as TV’s next Wonder Woman!  We think the costume looks okay.  Prefer the upper part to the lower.  And we’re not crazy about the bracelets.  Look a little plastic and chintzy. So … generally … meh.  We’re not thrilled.  We’re not depressed.  So what do you think of the costume?  And do you think our use of the phrase “upper part” was sufficiently euphemistic?

Meet the New WONDER WOMAN!

Adrianne Palicki (Friday Night Lights) has been tapped to don the magical bracelets in David E. Kelley‘s “Wonder Woman” series for NBC.  In addition to her role in “Friday Night Lights”, Palacki also has significant geek cred for appearing in “Smallville“, “Supernatural” and the Aquaman pilot.  And she’s hot and looks the part!  What’s not to like?

We’re sure that ‘net geeks will find something to complain about.  But we can’t fathom what it would be.

NBC Picks Up WONDER WOMAN!

According to the Hollywood Reporter, NBC has agreed to pick up David E. Kelly‘s adaptation of comic book superhero Wonder Woman for the pilot … at least.  The network passed on the project earlier this year, but thanks to executive reshuffling, they were now open to accept it.

David E. Kelly insists his Wonder Woman would “real complex woman and not just a superhero”.   And he’s optimistic about the series, believing that it is a good fit for NBC and could begin airing as early as next fall.
