Being a best-selling author has its benefits. Fame. Influence. Bucket loads of cash. But it also has its downside. This is one of them:
Da Vinci Code author Dan Brown’s books topped the list of most donated to Oxfam shops, the charity has said.
The US writer has now taken the dubious accolade for three years in a row, ahead of Ian Rankin and Top Gear host Jeremy Clarkson in the latest list.
And this unfortunate “honor” was exacerbated by the fact that he didn’t top the best seller list for the charity shop. That title went to Stieg Larson. He hadn’t to settle for third place on this list. Poor Dan. Let’s all weep for him.
